Packages, Drains, and the Insensitivity of the World as a Whole

Well, I can't help but notice that I still don't have a new Cake CD in my possession. I think it is going on something like a whole month since they started sending out shipments. Lame, Cake. Very lame. So to make up for the failings of their logistical operations, I splurged in online shopping. I ordered the Decemberists' Picaresque album, an album by a Brazilian band called Forro in the Dark (whom I heard on NPR), and the game Cranium Pop 5. That's supposed to get to me in 5-9 business days. Any wagers on which shipment will get to me first? To further my chances of getting something delightful in the mail sometime soon, I won a couple of auctions on eBay for Dunny Azteca figures. I got the cactus guy and the Quetzlcoatl guy. I still have an outstanding auction on a third figure, the black and white Kraken.

Another thing I'm looking forward to is the unclogging of my kitchen sink's drain. I poured a whole bottle of Drano in there, and supposedly it was supposed to work in 15 minutes. Ha. It's not been more than 2 hours and I don't think anything is gonna happen. Now I have a sink full of toxic chemicals rather than gross water. I don't think that's a trade up. I even made a second trip to the store to get the stuff that's supposed to work on standing water clogs. No dice. Sigh. I hope I get a package in the mail soon.
